Ipsy August 2015

Hello everyone! I'm late on posting my Ipsy bag for the month of August. Ipsyt is $10 a month and you get a cute bag every month along with 4-5 samples! Here's my link if you want to sign up! https://www.ipsy.com/new?refer=31yin

Let's dig right in.

August's theme was Prep School. The bag design is okay..not a fan of the print.

First in my bag, is Ultra Mild face wash by Lather. I like trying new facial washes!

Next item is an Argan Oil by Marc Anthony. I've never owned any Marc Anthony products so I can't wait to try it! Plus, I love argan oils and their many uses.

Next is this gorgeous lipstick by Bella Pierre. I do own a Bella Pierre gel eyeliner that I also got from Ipsy. I love the shade of this lipstick and the formula of it!

Up next is Jesse's Girl eye shadow primer. Did I ever tell you..I'm obsessed with primers. Any kind of primers. I have tons of eye shadow primers and I'm happy to add this to my collection.

Last in my bag is this Lord & Berry lip liner. I do wear lipstick, but only once in a while. I rarely use lip liners since I don't really think I would need it. I did try this and liked how it looked by itself. Hopefully I can find a lip color that matches to this so I can wear them both!

August 2015 Birchbox

I know this is a tad bit late, my apologies! Here is what I got in my Birchbox for the month of August!

Birchbox is $10 a month and here's a link if you are interested in signing up!

https://www.birchbox.com/invite/1db3g

August's box design! Sums up summer times during August

Birchbox always comes with a card telling you what you got in your box and how much each product retails for full price

First thing I noticed in my Birchbox was this leave-in conditioner. This is my second leave-in conditioner I have received in a subscription bag/box. I don't use these products but I do like the scent of this!

Next up is Coola makeup setting spray. I have yet to try this because I am trying to finish up my e.l.f setting spray. The cool thing about this setting spray is that, it's organic! Which is a plus for me :D

This Supergoop sample is so small! I could probably get 2-3 uses out of here. I love a good hand cream and I am interested in what Sea Buckthorn is.

I've never heard of this brand before. The brand is LAC & CO. It's a cheeky and lip duo. I have yet to try this as well, but I think the shade is a bit too light for my skin tone.

Lastly, I received a sample size of Hello by Harvey Prince. If I remember correctly, I might have another sample of this from another subscription box/bag as well. It smells pretty and I love stashing these in my purse for just in case emergencies!

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation

I was lucky enough to try out Maybelline's SuperStay Better Skin foundation thanks to Influenster. I love trying out new makeup hence, I was very excited to see this in my mailbox!

Influenster is known to send out FULL SIZE products when it comes to reviewing purposes. The shade I received was a shade too light for my complexion (I'm more on the tan side) The shade I reviewed was in Warm Nude. I tried the foundation for 3 weeks per Influenster's instructions.

When I first swatched it, I saw right away it was too light. For the 3 weeks, I mixed this foundation with my Bare Minerals foundation. Both foundations gave me full coverage and lasted all day! My skin is more on the oily side, so I made sure not to pack so much foundation on.

I tend not to buy Maybelline because my skin is indifferent about their products. I have gotten allergic reactions to some Maybelline products, but this foundation didn't trigger any reactions so I am very happy about that! It gave my skin a touch of glowy look and didn't budge all day/night. I recommend this foundation to anyone!

Disclaimer: I received this product for reviewing purposes thanks to Influenster. All opinions are my own.

July Ipsy 2015

Hello dolls! It has been a while since I last posted. I'm sorry about that! Today I have my better late than never July Ipsy bag! If you don't know what Ipsy is, it's a subscription service in which they give you 4-5 deluxe samples for only $10/month!

July's theme was Summer Lovin. I love the colors of this bag, but not a fan of the design. I love the fact that Ipsy gives you a different bag every month!

First in my bag is Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo chapstick. You can never have enough chapsticks in my opinion.

Up next we have Jelly Pong Pong 2 in 1 eyeliner and shadow. I'm not sure what shade or color this is in. It didn't say anything on the packaging. But I do like the texture of it.

Next is Gel Effect nail lacquer from Aurora. This is the second time I have received nail polish from Ipsy, and I clearly stated that I don't use nail polish. Oh well.

Next is tweezers from Crown Brushes. I love the color of the tweezers. I keep losing mine so having a backup is always a good thing.

Lastly, is Octavio La Playa sea salt spray. I have never used a sea salt spray so I'm not sure how to use this. I do like the size of the sample though!

Birchbox July 2015

I decided to keep Birchbox as a monthly subscription after the $1 deal they had going on. I am very happy that I stuck with it because I really enjoyed this month's box!

I love the design of the box! It's bold and bright, just right for summer. The Macadamia leave-in conditioner spray smells great and doesn't weigh down on my hair. I have yet to try the other products in my box. I can't wait to try the Stila liquid lipstick in the shade Beso. It looks like the perfect red! The Supergoop is something I will take with me when I leave for Florida, along with the Harvey Prince Hello body cream.

Mini Sephora Haul!

Good day everyone! I'm here today to show you what I got at my recent Sephora trip! I always try to limit my spending when it comes to Sephora since I already have so much makeup. But I think I did well on this trip :)

  • blinc mascara was free due to my points I accumulated. This mascara apparently creates little tubes around your lashes and keeps the curl and mascara in place. I never heard of this brand so I chose this to try it out!
  • Murad cleaner & exfoliate was also free thanks to a coupon. If you're a Sephora Beauty Insider (which I highly suggest you sign up for and it's free!), Sephora likes to send out emails containing a coupon for a free trial size product!
  • Beauty Blender..is my best buy yet! Before I bought this, I was using brushes and a mock beauty blender from the dollar store. After using the real Beauty Blender, I now know why so many people love it!
  •  Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita is literally LIFE. I tried it out inside the store, and I immediately fell in love with how the color looked on me and how fast it dried to a matte. It's the perfect color for my skin tone and I am so happy I purchased it. $20 well spent in my opinion!

June 2015 Ipsy unbagging

It's my favorite time of the month (and no..not THAT time of the month). I'm talking about the day you see that shiny package in your mailbox!

It's like Christmas every month! If you don't already know, Ipsy is $10/month and you get 4-5 deluxe samples every month!

Ipsy has a theme for their bags every month. For June, the theme is "Swim into Beauty". The bag is made of black material with "Ipsy" all over it. The bag is made of what feels like waterproof material.

First item in my bag is Nuxe Gentle Exfoliating Gel with rose petals. I've never heard of Nuxe until now, so I am very excited to give this a try. Also, I love exfoliating gels so this is a good item for me!

Next item is Formula X nail polish in the color Power Source. I rarely wear nail polish on my fingers because of my work environment, but I would use this on my toe nails for a cute summer look.

Up next is Befine Cucumber Facial Mask. I have never heard of Befine until now. I absolutely love facial masks and can't wait to give this a try!

I personally have never used Smashbox primers, let alone Smashbox products. I know this is very raved about product. so I am more than excited to give it a try. It's a very small sample so hopefully this can last me a while.

Lastly, is Trestigue. Again, never heard of this brand before. This is a eye shadow crayon in the shade Aspen Pine. I personally don't wear green eye shadow so I hope this will look good when I sample it.

June 2015 Birchbox

I received my first ever Birchbox today! I was so excited when I opened up my mailbox and saw it sitting there. Here is what was in my Birchbox!

The theme this month was Adventure. I really liked the design of the box and I can re-use it in the future!

One thing I like about Birchbox is that it comes with a card that tells you what you received and how much it retails for.

Cute pink packaging!

All of the goodies!! (Sorry for the shadow, it was very bright today)

First item in my box is an Emi Jay hair tie. A pack of 5 retails for $13 (which I would NEVER pay for that much!) I have yet to try these type of hairbands since I have thick, wavy hair. Here's to hoping it doesn't break on me!

Next time is Coola sunscreen in Fresh Mango. Full size retails for $32. I have heard good things about this brand so I'm excited to give it a try!

Next we have Amika Perk Up dry shampoo. Full size retails $21. The only dry shampoo I like to use is dry shampoo made for dark hair. I tried this dry shampoo on my hand to see its texture, and it left me white marks/streaks, which I am not a fan of. I might give this to a friend or swap it.

Another things I got was the Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow. Full size retails $27. At first, I was confused why it said Golden Glow, then I swatched it and left a golden shimmer...which again, I don't like. I will give this away also.

Bliss is one product I have been wanting to try out, So seeing this in my Birchbox made me happy! Full size retails for $54 (Wowzers!) I feel like this would help out my skin during this weather!

Lastly, another Marcelle product! This time is a waterproof eyeliner in a very pretty blue/teal color. I believe this would look lovely with my brown eyes! Full size retails for $11

This is all I got in my June Birchbox! I think I will be keep the subscription going since I love getting to try new items before I buy. Thanks for the great deal Birchbox! Note: I did get this box for $1 instead of $10 through a promotion Birchbox had! :)

Week 5/18 couponing trip

This week is full of awesome couponing deals! This trip includes Walgreens, Target, and CVS. If I were to pay retail, this would of cost around $42.xx, but I got all of this for less than $20! I love couponing for items that are a necessity and I love getting them for close to nothing!

In fact, three of the Playtex sport liners were actually a money maker! The Tresemme shampoo and conditioner were less than $2 each after coupons!

May 2015 Ipsy unbagging

Ello everyone! Today, I will share what I got in my May Ipsy bag! If you don't know what Ipsy is, it's a subscription bag for $10/month and you get 4-5 deluxe to full size products in your bag, plus you get a cute bag every month!

I really love this month's bag! I have only been subscribed to Ipsy for three months and I really enjoy getting new things to try every month! My bag pretty much describes my life, because makeup is pretty important stuff! I've seen these bags at Sephora and always thought they were so cute. I was very happy to find out that we were going to get one of three designs of the Breakups to Makeup bags.

Bag retails for $24 at Sephora

First thing in my bag is Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss. It came with two bubble samples of the High-Color lipgloss in the colors Failbait and Bittersweet. It also came with a 24/7 Glide On lip primer which applies invisible and helps your lip color stay on.
Full size retails for $16
0.8 oz sample size retails for $4.57

Second item in my bag is a full size Bella Pierre Gel eyeliner in Ebony. I've never heard of Bella Pierre cosmetics and I swatched the gel eye liner and it applies easy and smooth. I'm excited to try this out!
Full size retails $14.99

Next item is Pixi by Petra bronzer in the color Summertime. This is my second Pixi by Petra item I received through Ipsy. Personally, I don't wear bronzer that much, but I'm willing to try this out.
Full size $18
0.16 deluxe size $8

Next, I received Alterna haircare CC Cream. Once again, never heard of Alterna haircare and never heard of CC cream for the hair! I haven't tried this out yet since I'm not a fan of leave in hair products.
Full size $39
0.85 oz $6.50

Last item in my bag is Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser. If you know me, you would know that I love trying out new facial cleansers. I'm always on the prowl for new skin care items and I can't wait to try this and see how it works out!
Full size $24
1 oz sample $6
